Prince Harry Pokes Fun At Donald Trump During Late Show Appearance
Prince Harry took a swipe at Donald Trump during a lighthearted guest appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, joking about US politics and his own royal identity.

The Duke of Sussex appeared in a comedy sketch on Wednesday night, playing himself as an actor auditioning for the role of a Hallmark “Christmas prince.”
He wandered through the studio set, pretending to be lost and searching for an audition titled “Gingerbread Christmas Prince saves Christmas in Nebraska.”
Colbert questioned why an actual royal would want to star in a holiday movie, prompting Harry to answer: “You Americans are obsessed with Christmas movies, and you are clearly obsessed with royalty, so why not?”

When the host challenged the idea of that supposed obsession, Harry quipped back: “Really? I hear you elected a king,” an apparent reference to protests against the Trump administration.
The Duke also teased CBS over its reported settlement with Mr Trump, saying he was willing to “do anything” to get the role. “I will record a self tape, I will fly myself to an audition, settle a baseless lawsuit with the White House, all the things you people in TV do,” he joked.
Colbert insisted he had not been involved in those things, to which Harry replied: “Maybe that is why you are cancelled.”
Colbert went on to declare him the show’s “official Late Show prince of Christmas,” drawing cheers from the studio audience.
The segment followed a teaser video mimicking a viral Great British Bake Off audio clip. Taking the voice of presenter Alison Hammond, Harry asked Colbert: “If you were treated like a king for a day, what would you want me to do for you?” Colbert, speaking as baker Mark Lutton, replied: “Bake for me probably?” The pair then riffed on Hammond’s confusion between “bake” and “beg.”
The appearance was also promoted by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, who shared the teaser on her Instagram story. Other guests on the night included actor Michael Shannon and Irish actress and singer Jessie Buckley.

This was Harry’s second Late Show visit. His first, in January 2023, drew international headlines and set a two year viewership record as he promoted his memoir Spare.
The Duke and Duchess have lived in Montecito, California, since stepping back from royal duties in 2020. Their departure has fuelled tensions with other senior royals and left Harry estranged from King Charles and the Prince of Wales.
During his 2023 interview with Colbert, Harry admitted he watches Netflix drama The Crown and even fact checks it. When Colbert asked if he verifies the series, Harry mimed taking notes before laughing: “Yes, I do actually.”
